Description
BITCT-1101 is an orthophthalic based resin. This resin is suitable for most general purpose applications of your choice.
This is a medium reactive resin, which allows a wet on wet build of up to 5mm. This resin has been formulated to provide an adequate shelf life, while providing a relatively rapid after cure and a large cure plateau.
Application BITCT-1101 is suitable for all hand lay up applications. It can be used for a wide variety of FRP articles right up to the largest sizes. Most widely used applications for this resin includes but is not limited to manufacturing of Boats, Cooling Towers, Bathtubs, Quartz Products, Doors, Housing Domes, Statues, Mannequins, Stone Coating, etc.

Using 1.5%Co (3%), 1.5% MEKP (50%)
Post curing Mature the laminate for 24 hours at room temperature, followed by post curing at 60 deg C for 16 hours or at 80 deg C for 3 hours
Usage BITCT-1101 performs best if the laminate is completely post cured.
If the Cobalt based accelerator of 3% concentration is used along with MEKP of 50% peroxide content as catalyst to cure the resin, then the optimum ratio of the accelerator and catalyst to be used is 1.5% (V/W) of the resin being used. However, this quantity of catalyst and accelerator may be adjusted to get the optimum gel time.
Since viscosity increases on the storage due to styrene evaporation, styrene may be added to lower viscosity .
Storage BITCT-1101 remains stable for 3 months at 25deg C in the dark. The stability deteriorates markedly at elevated temperatures, especially when exposed to direct sunlight.
Packing BITCT-1101 is packed in HDPE carboys (35 kg) & epoxy coated steel drums (225 kgs)
